Boston Recovery Week

Recovery week after Boston Marathon

Monday

Tuesday
Did: 1.1 mi @ 12:56/mi, #10kTuesday, steps-only option
This was more of a hobble than a run, but I did it to keep the run streak. I had ideas that I might actually run a 10k today but nooooope. That was not happening. Ran the 1 mile to see the finish line on Boylston one more time before leaving town. I passed another guy on the sidewalk who also appeared to be hobbling along and he commented "this hurts worse than yesterday". LOL yep.

Stopped to see the memorial for the Boston Bombing

Finish Line disassembly in progress

Wednesday
Did: 2.05 mi @ 10:21/mi avg
Back home, ran on the swamp rabbit after dropping D off at school. Just a couple of easy miles, and legs are definitely still sore but felt better after I got moving.

Thursday
Did: 3.1 mi @ 9:55/mi avg
Ran around Furman for a short early morning run. This 1-2-3 recovery plan seems to be working well because leg soreness is significantly diminished today vs. the previous 2 days. Hooray!

Another exciting thing... as of this evening, we have a new family member. 🥰

Friday
Did: 4.39 mi @ 9:13/mi avg
Ran the cross-country trails at work and I'd say the legs feel almost normal! Looking forward to more time on trails in the spring and summertime.

Saturday
Did: 6.02 mi @ 9:40/mi avg
Kept the "long run" fairly short today so as not to derail recovery, but felt good running early miles.

Sunday
Did: 1.82 mi @ 9:57/mi avg + 2 mi pup walk
Short easy miles in the morning before the day gets started. Later in the morning took the pup (and kid) for a walk in the neighborhood.

Overall a successful and good recovery, and exciting week in general!
